Role SummaryThe role of the Disability Support Worker is to work with clients who reside within accommodations provided by St Jude's. You will work closely with multiple clients, developing rapport and forming a lasting, meaningful professional relationship with them. You will work within the NDIS funding framework, assisting them to achieve their goals, increase their independence and participation within the community. You will provide support to people with disability and/or psychosocial needs, enabling them to undertake all aspects of daily living.
Responsibilities and Duties- Providing assistance with ADL's such as toileting, showering, dressing, cooking and cleaning
- Providing individual support to clients with psychosocial requirements
- Assisting clients with social outings, shopping trips and appointments
- Liaising with the families and representatives of clients as required
- Promoting positive behaviours, learning experiences and skill development
We're looking for candidates with flexible availability - the more shifts you can work, the more opportunities we can match you with The roles will work across Joondalup and surrounding suburbs.
Skills, Attributes and ExperienceThe ideal candidate will pride themselves on their ability to deliver person-centered care that values the choice and goals of the client. They will have the people skills to build and maintain meaningful, lasting professional relationships with their clients. They will also work closely with their fellow support workers at the house, as well as your coordinator, to maintain accurate progress notes and reports, develop individualised care plans and problem solve for issues that develop within the house.
Key Criteria Includes:
- WA Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Proof of working rights - Passport or visa
- Valid driver's licence and a reliable vehicle
- Previous experience working with clients who live with psychosocial disabilities will be highly regarded
