**About the Role**
The role of the Disability Support Worker is to work with clients who reside within accommodations provided by St Jude’s. You will work closely with multiple clients, developing rapport and forming a lasting, meaningful professional relationship with them. You will work within the NDIS funding framework, assisting them to achieve their goals, increase their independence and participation within the community. You will provide support to people with disability and/or psychosocial needs, enabling them to undertake all aspects of daily living.
**Key duties include**:
- Assistance with ADL’s such as toileting, showering, dressing, cooking and cleaning.
- Providing individual support to clients with psychosocial requirements.
- Assisting clients with social outings, shopping trips and appointments.
- Liaising with the families and representatives of your client as required.
- Promoting positive behaviours, learning experiences and skill development.
**Within this role you will either work day shifts (~0700-1600) or afternoon shifts, which includes 8 hours of paid sleep (~1545-0715). The more shifts you have availability for, the more roles we can consider you for.**
**Skills & Experience**
As well as the above skills, the **Key Requirements** include:
- Possess or willing to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Covid-19 Vaccination
- WA Working With Children Check is desirable but not essential.
- Full Australian working rights.
- Valid West Australian driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
- Previous experience as a support worker in the health/disability sector or a relevant Cert III qualification is highly desirable but not essential.
- Previous experience working with clients who live with mental health issues will be highly regarded.
