About the Opportunity

Several well-established mid-tier civil construction companies across Queensland are seeking experienced and driven Senior Civil Estimators to join their pre-contracts teams. These businesses deliver a diverse range of projects — including subdivisions, roadworks, bulk earthworks, drainage, and general infrastructure.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned estimator or a civil engineer looking to transition from delivery to pre-contracts and play a key role in shaping successful tenders.

About the Role

As a Senior Civil Estimator, you'll lead the pricing and preparation of detailed tenders for civil construction projects across Queensland. Working closely with management and delivery teams, you'll take ownership of estimates, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and constructability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret tender documentation, drawings, scopes of work, and contract conditions.
  • Lead and coordinate the preparation of civil construction tenders (up to $30M).
  • Identify and evaluate project risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options.
  • Engage and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure constructability and methodology alignment.
  • Mentor and support junior estimators, contributing to team capability and process improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date cost data, productivity rates, and benchmarking information.

About You

You will be a confident and commercially aware civil professional who can take ownership of estimates and drive positive outcomes.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Experience in civil estimating and project delivery, ideally in bulk earthworks, roadworks, subdivisions, or infrastructure.
  • Strong ability to read plans, interpret documentation, and price from first principles.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software.
  • Previous experience mentoring junior team members (advantageous).
