What you'll be doing

As a Scientific Officer, you'll play a vital role in supporting neurological diagnostics and patient care through accurate data management and laboratory processes.

In this role you will:

  • Perform and validate diagnostic tests to support clinical decisions.
  • Maintain accurate patient data and laboratory records.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and nursing staff to ensure timely results.
  • Uphold quality standards and compliance with health regulations.
  • Provide professional and friendly service to patients and carers.

  • Tertiary qualification in a science related field

Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification in a science related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in technical procedures associated with specialised procedures and/or treatments relevant to a speciality and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner and to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment whilst working autonomously to deliver results within specified timeframes set to meet client expectations.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients and staff.
  • Display initiative, problem solving and analytical skills including an ability to apply established principles in the speciality and resolve general and complex issues within the Department.
  • Commitment to the principles of quality management and maintaining continuous quality improvement to patient care within WSLHD.
