Reckless Brewing in Bathurst has over the past 3 years become one of the largest and most vibrant venues in Bathurst. Its 400 seat taproom and restaurant has achieved massive appeal from locals and tourists alike and is the highest rated restaurant in Bathurst. Additionally the brewery itself is one of the most awarded breweries in Australia with plenty of national and international awards.

The keys to this continued success rest on a team that puts quality and customer experience above all else. The restaurant runs on innovation, finding and filling the space between classic Australian pub meals and finer dining with room for creative and adventurous flair with a range of events across our calendar.

We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our dynamic team and work with our team to ensure our continued success and growth.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Assist the head chef in the operations of the RoundHouse, the restaurant that is part of the Reckless Brewing Co. Taproom in the Crago Mill, Bathurst

Assist in managing staffing and rostering within KPI and revenue forecasts

Manage procurement and maintain relationships with new and existing suppliers, within KPI and revenue forecasts

Training of existing and new staff through both informal and formal processes (e.g. Apprenticeships)

Ongoing menu design and creation, with collaboration with the brewing team for beer and food pairings

Ongoing design and creation of Reckless by Nature products, where house made products used in the restaurant can be purchased by customers and consumers

Continuous Improvements (CI) and process control

Maintain the cleanliness of the Kitchen to the highest industry standards

Best practice food safety and process monitoring

Prioritise safety throughout every facet of Kitchen operations and maintain and review safety processes through the CI framework

Foster a positive work environment for all staff

5 day work week

Must be available to work weekends

Pizza experience advantageous but not essential

Food safety certificate required
