About the roles

GEO Healthcare is seeking to employ and support a Nurse Practitioner . The opportunity aims to develop and produce Nurse Practitioners capable of providing a high standard of clinical care to patients within a complex health environment. GEO Healthcare will support the development of nursing leaders with the capacity to lead practice and service development, and influence healthcare services within a diverse and unique corrections environment.

  • Nurse Practitioner

Requirements:

  • Current, unrestricted registration as a Registered (Division 1) Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • A postgraduate qualification (minimum graduate certificate) in a clinical field relevant to specified practice field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years full-time equivalent practice as a registered nurse in a specified clinical field and two (2) years full-time equivalent advanced practice in the last 6 years in the same clinical field.

Course admission criteria:

  • Current general Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) registration as a registered nurse.
  • A minimum of two (2) years full-time equivalent practice as a registered nurse in a specified clinical field and two (2) years full-time equivalent advanced practice in the last 6 years in the same clinical field.
  • A postgraduate qualification (minimum graduate certificate) in a clinical field relevant to the specified practice field.
  • Current employment in an Australian health care service at a minimum of 40 hours/fortnight in an advanced clinical nursing role.
  • Documentation of clinical practice and support agreements.

Other requirements:

  • Valid and current Australian driver's license.
  • Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Ability to work within a prison setting, which will involve direct contact with people in prison associated with the delivery of healthcare.
