POSITION OVERVIEW

The Solution Architect role is responsible for leading the architecture for Ocean's product portfolio to ensure our technology solutions meet the needs of our customers. You will engage with the Sales, Product, Software and Customer Success functions within Ocean to explore, define and guide our technology solutions.

You will work with stakeholders to explore customer requests and market requirements, research emerging technologies and their business impact and bring this together with an understanding of our current product architecture to influence our forward direction. Working closely with the Software and Product functions, you will assess the current state of our systems, define the future state, and guide the successful implementation of the solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

Solution Architecture

• Develop a solution architecture aligned with current product portfolio, business goals and growth objectives.
• Provide technical leadership to the business to define innovative, scalable, secure and resilient solutions
• Collaborate with sales to assess business opportunities, contribute to tenders and prepare detailed solution specifications
• Consult with internal stakeholders and customers on technology requirements, functional and integration needs and suitable solution options
• Work with software architects and guide high level design to optimize solution architecture for performance, scalability, resilience and user experience
• Maintain awareness of new technologies and trends, and propose new architectural options to increase product value and benefit customers
• Evaluate third party technology suppliers and partners for fit with product and market needs
• Lead engagement with select vendors and partners towards successful delivery

Support Product Delivery

• Work with Product and Software teams to balance specific customer demands against the need for a strategic direction for Ocean solutions
• Work with CTO and Product team to align the solution architecture and product roadmaps for timely delivery
• Ensure the solution architecture is effectively communicated internally and externally to all stakeholders

People Leadership

• Lead and mentor a team of solution architects and software architects
• Define processes, governance measures, artefacts, templates, tools and standards for how architecture is done at Ocean
• Foster a culture of learning and innovation, customer-centric thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and open communication, leading by example
• Build and maintain a high-performing team who can take ownership of their work and deliver on commitments with quality outcomes

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in computer science (or equivalent)
• 10+ years' industry experience across Software and Solution Architecture
• Minimum of 5 years' technical leadership experience including coaching and mentoring
• Experience in leading the specification and delivery of enterprise-level B2B/B2Gtechnology solutions
• Experience in introducing new products to market and/or growing products and solutions
• Experience with SaaS cloud apps, on-premises enterprise software, systems integrations, and enterprise-scale complex databases
• Deep understanding of modern technology platforms, infrastructure and security
• Strong communication skills to internal stakeholders and customers with ability to translate between technical and non-technical audiences.
