About us

JG Harkness Excavations Pty Ltd is a family owned and operated earthmoving business based in the Adelaide Hills. We are continuously growing and expanding our business and now require an experienced and reliable Truck Driver (Heavy Combination) and multi-skilled plant operator. We provide a diverse range of services including large rural and civil construction projects based in the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula. With over 20 years working in the earthmoving industry, we have a proud and ongoing reputation of providing high quality work, value for money and good customer service.

Qualifications & experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience
  • Construction Industry White Card
  • Heavy Combination licence is essential
  • Plant Operator of General Earthmoving machinery
  • Experience operating excavators, skid steers and front end loaders is required
  • Full time job opportunity with immediate start.
  • Australian citizenship is required for this position

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Safe operating of Heavy Combination semi tipper truck and trailer
  • Carting of quarry rubble materials to rural construction sites
  • Carting of waste material from construction sites to waste resource facilities
  • Mobilising plant machinery to and from site
  • Daily inspection of truck and completion of logbook
  • Cleaning and maintaining of truck
  • Experience in operating earthmoving machinery - general and civil construction including base preparation, bulk cut and fill and loading of trucks
  • Operate machinery in a safe manner
  • Able to work flexible and extended hours where required - Job is based on hours between Monday- Friday 7:00am - 5:00pm with 1/2 hour meal break
