Zerella Fresh is one of Australia's largest grower and packers of Carrots, Onions and Potatoes supplying Australia's leading supermarket chains plus independents and exports.

We are currently seeking several experienced and motivated HC TRUCK DRIVERS to join our team on a full-time permanent basis, transporting produce from Virginia within the Adelaide area.

As a valuable member of our team, you will play a vital role in the success of our Potato, Carrot and Onion operation. If you are reliable, energetic and have a passion for transport we would love to hear from you.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work both independently and as part of a team. Reporting directly to the Packing Operations Manager you will be working collectively as part of a team assisting across a range of transport operations.

Duties include:

  • Transportation of produce, operate and maintain truck.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the truck, completing all required checks and reporting.
  • Thoroughly inspect the trucks before and after trips, ensuring the truck is in good condition and any problems are reported.
  • Inspect loads prior to every trip, ensuring that the load and straps are secured according to National Heavy Vehicle Standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of produce carried, delivered and returned.
  • Maintain logs and records as per company procedures.
  • Follow safety guidelines and comply with all health and safety policies/procedures.

Requirements:

  • Current unrestricted HC License (essential).
  • One-year prior truck driving experience.
  • Demonstrate excellent reversing skills in a truck.
  • A willingness to be hands on and participate in a broad range of duties, a strong work ethic is essential.
  • Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster with varying start times.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to complete necessary paperwork accurately.
  • Knowledge of heavy vehicle laws and regulations (including load restraints).
  • Knowledge of basic mechanics and maintenance
  • Experience transporting fresh produce, or working with tautliners and tippers, will be highly regarded.
  • Having forklift license is advantageous.
  • Be able to drive manual and automatic.
  • Are self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.
