Become a Volunteer-Assisted Shopping Support and help elderly and vulnerable community members maintain their choice and independence by providing assisted shopping trips in your own vehicle Your time and kindness can make a world of difference to those who need a little extra help getting their groceries and essentials.

About the Role

As a Volunteer for the Assisted Shopping Support, you will:

  • Use your own vehicle to transport clients to and from supermarkets and shopping centres.
  • Assist with carrying shopping bags (if required).
  • Provide friendly conversation and companionship along the way.
  • Help clients maintain their choice and independence while staying engaged in the community.

Community Accessability is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting individuals who may struggle with mobility or transportation. We strive to ensure that elderly and vulnerable residents remain connected, independent, and able to access essential services with dignity.

What We're Looking For

· A friendly, reliable, and patient individual with good communication skills.

· A current and valid driver's license.

· A registered, roadworthy, and well-maintained vehicle.

· A passion for helping others and a desire make a meaningful difference to your local community.

· Willingness to complete safety and registration checks.

Vehicle Requirements

To ensure safety and comfort for our clients, your vehicle must meet basic requirements, including:

  • Up-to-date registration and vehicle insurance.
  • Transport vehicle to be a suitable height for people with mobility needs.
  • Regular servicing and maintenance.
  • Clean and well-kept condition.
  • Successfully meet the requirements of our vehicle safety assessment form.
