Cultural Services Assistant
- Casual role – Weekend work required
- $34.69 per hour + casual loading and superannuation.

At Wodonga Council, we're looking for a Cultural Services Assistant to support the delivery of events and programs that connect our community. In this role, you'll help set up and deliver cultural activities, provide friendly support to volunteers, and ensure our events run smoothly and safely.
Key Aspects Of The Role
- Event delivery and support Play a hands-on role in bringing events to life. From setting up marquees and equipment to keeping activities running smoothly, you'll help ensure every event is safe, professional, and enjoyable for the community.
- Volunteer guidance Share your enthusiasm and provide support to volunteers who make our events possible. You'll offer training, guidance, and encouragement so they feel confident, valued, and ready to contribute.
- Community engagement Be the welcoming face of Council at events. Whether answering questions, pointing people in the right direction, or providing information about activities, you'll help create a friendly, inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels part of the occasion.
- Resource and equipment care Take pride in the behind-the-scenes work that makes events run smoothly. You'll maintain and transport resources and artworks, inspect equipment for safety, and make sure everything is ready to go for the next big event.

Key Selection Criteria
Our ideal candidate will be able to show us the following:
- Previous experience and interest in working within events.
- Developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively alongside a range of people and organisations.
- Ability to trouble shoot, problem solve and resolve minor issues on the job in order to achieve set objectives.
- Experience working within a team environment, and autonomously, to successfully achieve an outcome.
- Flexibility to accommodate weekdays, evenings and out of hours work.

Prior to commencement, the successful applicant will be required to provide the following.
- A copy of a recent National Police Check (less than 3 months)
- A current driver's licence
- Any other mandatory requirements outlined in the position description (eg. first aid, CPR, WWCC, forklift).
The completion of a pre-employment functional assessment (paid for by the council) will also be required.
If applicable, evidence regarding right to work in Australia will need to be presented.
