About the role

Become the Construction Manager for Perth Building Projects, A small building company based in Cockburn. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of small to medium size projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will be based in Perth but may be required to travel to project sites throughout the region.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets to keep projects on track
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of construction crews, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless execution
  • Monitor project progress and identify and resolve any issues or risks that arise in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards
  • Provide regular progress reports to senior management and clients
  • Manage the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for projects
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and safety-focused work environment on site

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Manager or in a similar senior construction role
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing construction projects from start to finish
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment, as well as relevant building codes and regulations
  • Proficient in the use of project management software and tools
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, contractors, and team members
  • Tertiary qualification in construction management, engineering, or a related field
