Senior Java Engineer 6 Month Rolling Contract Sydney
Daily rate: $ p/d

A leading financial services organisation is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join a long running engineering program supporting key customer and operational platforms. The environment is modern and hands on, using Java, Spring Boot, AWS and React to deliver new features, uplift existing services and improve performance across critical applications. This role suits an experienced contractor who is adaptable, technically strong and comfortable working across backend and UI components when required.

What you'll be working on

  • Designing and building Java and Spring Boot microservices across high availability systems
  • Developing React based front end components and integrating them with backend APIs
  • Working within an AWS environment across compute, messaging, storage and deployment pipelines
  • Improving reliability, performance and maintainability of existing services
  • Collaborating with product, architecture and engineering teams on technical decisions and delivery outcomes

What you'll bring

  • Strong commercial experience with Java 17 or later and deep expertise with Spring Boot
  • Hands on experience delivering applications in AWS including containerisation and CI/CD tooling
  • Solid React experience with the ability to contribute to front end feature development
  • Background building enterprise grade APIs, microservices and cloud native solutions
  • Ability to work independently, communicate clearly and deliver in a fast moving environment
