Whitfield Community Kindergarten is a well-respected Creche & Kindergarten (C&K) affiliated centre where we are dedicated to providing an authentic, rich play-based program for children in their pre-prep year. The opportunity
We are currently seeking an assistant educator to join the team on a permenant part-time basis, working 34 hours a fortnight (Thursday & Friday with 8.5hr shifts falling between - 7:30 to 4:30pm). The permanent position will commence on January 22nd 2026 and is available on a casual basis with immediate start until the 12 December.
We offer competitive rates, with permanent team members eligible for recess leave during school holidays in line with contract conditions.
Ideal applicants will have:
- Diploma of Children's Services or actively working towards
- A current and valid Working with Children's Check (Blue Card)
- A strong commitment to child safety and uphold the principles of a child safe environment.
- Hold a current senior First Aid, CPR & Asthma and Anaphylaxis training certificates
- Have an understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS)
- Have a moderate level of computer skills in order to use our online programming software
- Proficient in oral and written communication
- Experience working with children with additional needs
- Minimum 1-2 years experience working with children is required
- Excellent interpersonal skills (ability to build rapport with families, colleagues, stakeholders and members of the community)
- Australian permanent residency is required for this position
