Senior Project Officers (APS6 Equivalent)

About the Role

Our client is seeking
multiple Senior Project Officers
to support the delivery of high-profile programs and projects across intelligence, IT, and corporate domains. These roles are APS6-equivalent positions, based onsite in
Canberra, ACT
, with flexible arrangements considered on a case-by-case basis.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Project Officer, you will:

  • Coordinate and administer a range of program and project activities.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, artefacts, and reporting requirements.
  • Act as a key point of contact for diverse stakeholders, fostering strong relationships.
  • Support change management and governance processes, including Steering Committees and Working Groups.
  • Apply and adapt delivery methodologies (Prince2, MSP, Agile, SAFe, Hybrid) across multiple projects.
  • Assist with procurement activities in line with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
  • Provide Secretariat support and ensure compliance with governance frameworks.

Essential Skills and Experience

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • At least
    5 years' experience
    in project support roles within the Federal Government.
  • Proven skills in stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and communication.
  • Strong understanding of project frameworks and methodologies.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, deliver under pressure, and adapt to ambiguity.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint.

Desirable

  • Experience with Agile delivery and tools (e.g., Microsoft Azure DevOps).
  • SAFe or Scrum Master qualifications.
  • Previous work in small-to-medium Federal Government agencies, particularly within Intelligence.

    12 months + 2 x 12-month extensions
  • Hours:
    40 hours per week
  • Security Clearance:
    Must be able to obtain
    NV1 clearance
  • Start Date:
    1 December 2025
