Information Services Branch (ISB) drives Brisbane City Council's digital transformation by developing and implementing ICT strategies that enhance service delivery, optimise operations, and shape the digital landscape for the Brisbane community. ISB is committed to improving liveability, sustainability, and economic growth through innovative digital solutions. Key focus areas of ISB include enhancing the digital experience, advising on technology to support Council's Vision, and driving innovation for Brisbane Vision 2031.

The Role

ISB is organised into nine sections, including the Data and Information Insights team, where the Business Transition practice is based. As a Business Transition Manager, you will set the direction for, develop, and deliver practical and effective business transition strategies, plans, and activities for ICT projects. Ensuring business and people readiness for the successful implementation of project outcomes and new ways of working.

The role includes:

• fostering a culture of innovation and digital readiness within Council
• collaborating with stakeholders on transition activities for business readiness and successful project implementation
• planning, developing, and implementing practical communication and engagement strategies and plans that support business outcomes
• bridging the gap between technical project aspects and business requirements
• delivering critical thinking and clarity, conveying information clearly and concisely
• providing expertise in business transition to successfully create a positive and sustainable approach to new ways of working
• ensuring business and people readiness for the successful implementation of ICT program/project outcomes.

To be successful you will have:

• proven ICT project experience, in a large and/or complex organisation
• demonstrated experience in developing and implementing human-centric business solutions that manage risk, embed change, and realise benefits
• proven ability to analyse and evaluate complex strategic change issues and develop practical strategies for resolution
• excellent written and verbal communication skills, including, creating digital content, and presenting to diverse stakeholders
• outstanding problem-solving and prioritising skills to effectively manage workload and competing priorities, ensuring deadlines are met and outcomes are achieved.

This role will require a Criminal History Check.
