Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Quadrant People Resources Pty Ltd Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

Our client is a global leader in packaging and recycling with operations nationally.  They have one vacancy (and potentially a second vacancy) for a skilled and experienced shift Fitter at their plastics recycling plant in Somerton in Melbourne's north.  This is a Monday to Friday shift role (afternoon or nights).

We are seeking candidates with trade qualifications in Fitting and Turning, experience with continuous process operations and working shift work.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be part of a highly skilled maintenance team supporting a major recycling initiative and contribute to a significant reduction in plastics waste in our environment.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Trained as an apprentice in Fitting and Turning (Machinists and other mechanical trades are welcome to apply)
  • Experience with continuous process operations
  • Experience with a waste management / recycling site
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Great team work skills and organisational and planning skills
  • Knowledge of production systems and continuous improvement

In addition you will have:

  • A current forklift license (or experience).

A keen focus on Safety is absolutely critical.

New capital expenditure has been approved to meet growth and industry needs.

This is a great role, well paid (some negotiation possible for skills), overtime is available and work in a great team environment and support provided for training.
