Senior Power BI Developer

Sydney | Hybrid | Financial Services | $140k - $160k + Super

This is an opportunity to join a highly collaborative analytics team that values innovation, technical excellence, and tangible business impact. You'll be developing modern BI solutions that genuinely drive decisions at a group level, not just building dashboards that collect dust.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Designing and delivering high-impact Power BI dashboards and reports that bring complex data to life.
  • Building scalable, efficient data models and optimising performance through advanced DAX.
  • Partnering with stakeholders across finance, IT, and operations to understand business challenges and translate them into analytical solutions.
  • Maintaining version control and best-practice standards across the BI environment (Git/Azure DevOps).
  • Integrating data from a range of sources and working with the central data team to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Driving adoption of BI tools and helping define UX and visual design standards for reporting.
  • Staying ahead of emerging BI and AI trends, recommending ways to enhance capability and automation.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven background developing end-to-end Power BI solutions — from data modelling to polished executive dashboards.
  • Advanced knowledge of DAX and SQL, with experience building complex queries and optimising performance.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Azure, or similar).
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate data into commercial insights.
  • Collaborative mindset and confidence engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with Python for automation or integration is advantageous but not essential.
  • Previous experience in the finance or related sector will be highly regarded.
