BKI is seeking an incredible Health Services Assistance Teacher (Patient Services Assistant) to join our Health and Community Centre of Excellence (HACCOE) team at Broadmeadows Campus to teach prospective healthcare professionals and inspire the next generation

About The Role:
Join Bendigo Kangan Institute's Health and Community Centre of Excellence (HACCOE) at Broadmeadows as a Health Services Assistance Teacher (Patient Services Assistant), making a real difference for students and the wider community. In this sessional role, you'll deliver high-quality vocational education and competency-based assessment for Health Services Assistance, supporting trainees and prospective healthcare professionals in state-of-the-art facilities.
Teaching is required for Health Services Assistance, with classes scheduled for two days per week (days may vary), including blended learning and evening sessions for traineeships—currently Thursday evenings 5–8pm every fortnight, with flexibility to change. You'll work with a diverse student cohort, supported by continuous mentoring, and contribute to the design and delivery of engaging, industry-relevant learning experiences.

Qualifications:
- Certificate III In Health Services Assistance (essential)
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (essential)
- Certificate IV in Operating Theatre Technical Support (desirable)
- Minimum of 3 years industry experience
Experience and Knowledge:
- Industry experience in a Health Services field
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel etc
- Has an understanding of cultural sensitivity and respects and values difference
- Is able to identify language, literacy and numeracy issues
- Can adapt communication style to suit audience and context
- Ability to build constructive relationships with stakeholders
- Has an understanding of the concepts and practices underpinning digital and blended learning and applies as a supplement to the learning program
- Ability to use digital learning for administrative functions, to communicate, collaborate and for presentations
- Provision (and maintenance) of current driver's license where relevant
