Maintenance/Gardener

We are looking for an experienced general maintenance/handyman to join our team to provide a variety of professional services including repairs, maintenance, gardening and minor renovations as required.

This role will appeal to someone who is physically fit, hardworking, and well presented. You will work in a team environment, be self-motivated and able to work independently. You will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, gardening and repairs.

Good problem solving skills and the ability to work unsupervised and at pace. There is a continual need to interface with our staff and residents and as such the person we are looking for must have strong communication skills, customer service excellence, a positive can-do attitude, patience and responsibility.

The Successful Applicant will :

· Have proven experience within trades and the general maintenance industry with the ability to complete daily assigned tasks essential.

· Be a strong all-rounder with a wide range of trade skills, which can meet the demand of odd jobs and gardening.

· Complete Mandatory training when required

· Have the ability to swiftly identify and evaluate day-to-day problems and the ability to correct them.

· Have a strong ability to prioritise tasks and follow up as necessary.

· Have the capacity to work unsupervised and within a team environment.

· Have a sound knowledge and be competent in the use of basic hand and power tools.

· Ensure all works carried out are completed well and of a high standard.

· Come with a positive attitude and desire to excel

· Have excellent grooming and presentation

· Possess a professional approach when dealing with staff, suppliers, sub-contractors and residents

· Have an understanding of how to work in a safe manner and adhere to current OH&S legislation and guidelines.

· Be willing to wear and use correct PPE.

You must have or can provide the following:

· National Police Clearance – or ability to obtain police clearance

· Ability to use computers to communicate and receive tasks

· Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions

· A current drivers licence.

· A strong work ethic, punctual and ability to work flexible hours when required.

· Two contactable referees within last 12 months of employment
