About us: The Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS) works to create and translate knowledge that enables inclusion, equity, health, and well-being, particularly as they relate to sex, gender, sexuality and relationships. ARCSHS is home to the largest program of LGBTIQ+ health and wellbeing research and knowledge translation in Australia, with expertise in family, domestic and sexual violence, alcohol and other drug use, and mental health.

Rainbow Health Australia is a program within ARCSHS that supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ+) health and wellbeing through research and knowledge translation, training, resources, policy advice and service accreditation through the Rainbow Tick.

About the role:Join Rainbow Health Australia as the National Program Manager – LGBTIQA+ Quality & Inclusion (Rainbow Tick).  Reporting to the Program Lead, the successful applicant will oversee our innovative Rainbow Tick program, a national quality standards initiative for LGBTIQ+ inclusion and excellence in health and human services. The Rainbow Tick is both a driver and a measure of quality and consistency of care for LGBTIQ+ people and has been contributing to LGBTIQ+ safety and inclusion in services and workplaces for over a decade. In this position you will play a key role in maintaining excellence, supporting strategic sector and government relationships and promoting engagement with Rainbow Tick.

Duties at this level will include:

  • Oversee Rainbow Tick portfolio of activities, including associated projects and staff
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including governments, peak bodies, LGBTIQ+ organisations and accrediting bodies.
  • Identify and pursue strategic opportunities to extend the reach of Rainbow Health Australia's capability-building programs (including Rainbow Tick) geographically, and to a broader range of sectors and professional roles.
  • Promote Rainbow Tick and represent Rainbow Health Australia/ARCSHS at conferences, events and other opportunities.
  • Support continuous quality improvement processes including oversight for review and refinement the Rainbow Tick standards and related processes.

Essential Criteria

Skills and knowledge required for the position

  • A bachelor's degree with substantial extension of the theories and principles, learned through experience; or a range of management experience; or postgraduate qualifications, or progress towards postgraduate qualifications with extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
  • Understanding of quality standards and accreditation processes.
  • A detailed working knowledge of research related to LGBTIQ+ health and wellbeing, and its implications for service delivery, policy and interventions.?
  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills with experience in managing and leading staff to promote a cohesive and effective team and managing workflows.
  • Demonstrated capacity to organise work effectively and efficiently and deliver outputs in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in stakeholder engagement and communication, with the confidence and experience to drive models forward.
  • Ability to Strategically think and effectively align initiatives with broader objectives.
