Murrumba State Secondary College is located in a beautiful part of Brisbane's northern suburbs, with easy access to the thriving Brisbane City, the relaxing foreshores of Moreton Bay and the endless beaches of the Sunshine Coast.

The successful applicant for the role of Deputy Principal - Teaching and Learning will lead the continued development and implementation of programs, systems and processes regarding curriculum, teaching and learning across the College, optimising conditions for efficacy of teacher practice, ensuring a highly capable workforce. Their role also includes leading the Whole of College Approach to Pedagogy, the Beginning and Early Career Program, Partnerships with Universities regarding Preservice Teacher placement and leading curriculum, teaching and learning across the College through the line management of the pedagogy coaches.
As Head of House for Doherty, the Deputy Principal - Teaching and Learning will also lead the holistic support of students in Doherty House (Years 7-12), tracking and monitoring and putting in place appropriate supports and intervention regarding their engagement (behaviour, attendance) and learning, and working with the Guidance Officer to support their wellbeing.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Deputise for the Principal when required.
- Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
