Australian Ceramics Engineering (ACE) is the market leader in the supply of wear protection systems, providing clients with complete material handling solutions, including design, fabrication, and on-site support, across Australia.

As we continue to grow, we're seeking a detail-driven Engineering and Design Officer to join our high-performing Engineering and Design team in a full-time, permanent role. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for precision and a strong background in drafting or design within manufacturing or project-based environments.

You'll be responsible for producing accurate, production-ready 3D models, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and supporting documentation that meet ACE's standards and customer specifications. You'll manage your own workflow within the team's planning system, ensuring deliverables are accurate, on time, and aligned with operational readiness requirements.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Preparing accurate 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and technical documents to ACE standards
• Validating outputs against approved scope, quotes, and customer specifications
• Managing assigned tasks within the Engineering & Design workflow system and communicating progress or delays proactively
• Collaborating with Estimating, Order Processing, Procurement, and Operations to ensure manufacturability and readiness for production
• Maintaining version control and document accuracy across all technical outputs
• Supporting offshore drafting activities and tracking progress
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, including drafting templates, libraries, and workflow efficiency
• Performing quality checks to ensure outputs meet compliance, safety, and customer standards

You'll play a critical role in ensuring all designs are right-first-time and production-ready, directly supporting ACE's commitment to quality, precision, and customer satisfaction.

• Minimum 2 years' drafting or design experience in a manufacturing or project-based environment
• Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting (or equivalent qualification)
• Proficiency in SolidWorks; experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation is an advantage
• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Confident communicator with strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously within a team environment
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement and efficiency
