About the Business

The Workforce Development and Integrity Division plays a critical role in building our capable, inclusive, and high-performing workforce and by extension, supporting the delivery of safe, trusted services for the South Australian community. The division provides internal strategic and operational workforce services, whilst also contributing to the boarder public safety and integrity through the provision of screening services.

Role Details

The Principal Policy Officer – Screening Reform is a role within the Screening Unit and is accountable to the General Manager, Policy & Child Safe Environments for:

  • Leading the planning, development and implementation of the national worker screening check for the aged care sector in South Australia.

  • Driving policy development and strategic reform initiatives aimed at safeguarding vulnerable people and enhancing the integrity of the workforce.

  • Providing high level policy advice and leading the review and evaluation of screening to support continuous improvement and national consistency.

Special Conditions

National Police Check required.

Employment-related Screening Check required.

Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.

Tertiary qualification in politics, law or other related disciplines is desirable.

Role Status: Term up to 30/06/2026

Salary Range: $108,109-$116,864 (ASO7)
