About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Toolmaker to join our team at Don Green Engineering in St Marys, NSW. As a Toolmaker, you will be responsible for the design, manufacture, repair and maintenance of a wide range of tools, dies, jigs, and other specialised equipment used in our production processes. This is a full-time, permanent role that will be instrumental in supporting the continued growth and success of our engineering firm.

What you'll be doing

  • Designing, fabricating, and repairing precision tools, dies, jigs, and other specialised equipment

  • Utilising computer-aided design (CAD) software to develop technical drawings and specifications

  • Operating a variety of metalworking machines and equipment, including lathes, mills, grinders, and welding machines

  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving issues with existing tooling and equipment

  • Collaborating with production teams to ensure tools and equipment meet quality standards and production needs

  • Maintaining detailed records and documentation of all tooling and equipment

  • Providing guidance and support to less experienced members of the team

What we're looking for

  • Completed trade qualification in Toolmaking or a related engineering discipline

  • Proficient in the use of CNC machines, manual lathes, milling machines, and other metalworking equipment

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

  • Experience with CAD software, would be highly regarded
