Mount Scopus Memorial College is a co-educational Jewish School from Early Learning to Year 12 across three campuses; St Kilda East, Caulfield South and Burwood.

We are inviting applicants with a growth mindset and a passion for lifelong learning, who are inspired and motivated to work in a contemporary learning context, to apply for the position of Jewish Studies Teaching and Learning Leader (Years 4 to 6) located at our Primary School in Burwood commencing from Term 1, January 2026).

This is a part-time position (with the possibility of going full-time) with a teaching allotment on a two year tenure leading the teaching & learning of the Jewish Studies Department from Year 4 to Year 6. Click here to view the Position Description.

We are seeking applicants who are to share their love of learning, knowledge and practice of Jewish Studies, and enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team. The successful candidate will:

  • ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Jewish Studies Curriculum
  • develop the continuous improvement of curriculum and teaching practice within the Jewish Studies Department.
  • ensure teaching & learning in Jewish Studies is aligned with IB learning philosophy and practices.
  • ensure that Jewish Studies teaching at the College is engaging and meaningful, and caters for different learning styles, abilities and interests.
  • ensure that the curriculum is developed and taught pursuant to the Jewish, Modern Orthodox and Zionist ethos of the College.

Applicants must have the following;

  • current teacher registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching,
  • a sound understanding of the Child Safe Standards and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children.
  • A thorough understanding and knowledge of Jewish Studies curriculum
