About the role:

Contribute to the provision of quality education to the students within the Junior School.   Every member of the team plays an integral role in ensuring excellence in education. Teacher Aides work closely with teachers and students to support and improve learning outcomes. Work as part of energetic team which is passionate about student education and committed to assisting boys in developing their capabilities, discovering their talents, and becoming a young man of good character.

This is a permanent, full-time (term-time) position.

About you:

We are seeking a proactive, compassionate individual with a passion for supporting education. The ideal candidate is a strong team player with excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the supervision of education activities, under the direction of a teacher as required and in accordance with the needs of the students.
  • Work with individual students or small groups within the classroom.
  • Work with students and supervision of assessments.
  • Assist students working with digital tools.
  • Cooperate and work as part of a team to assist in the organisation and management of the Junior School.
  • Provide administrative support including creating materials and resources, collating, and recording students' data, filing, organisation of equipment and resources.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and disciplined learning environment built on authentic relationships with students.
  • Provide the highest level of duty of care in line with College policy and legislative regulations.
  • Behave in a manner that is professional, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity for effective communication and maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Work effectively and respectfully with all other staff members of the College.
  • Support the implementation of the College policies and procedures.
  • Undertake playground and other supervision duties as required.
  • Undertake other duties as required by the Head of Junior School.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant previous experience – 1 to 2 years

Mandatory requirements

  • Adhere to the PMSA Code of Conduct.
  • Comply with College policies, procedures and training requirements, including those related to occupational health and safety, risk management, child protection, and confidentiality.
  • Positively support the College's traditions and Christian ethos.
  • Hold a current blue card or be eligible to obtain a blue card for working with children
