The Role
This is a hands-on role that will play a key part in driving a positive safety culture across the company's expanding operations. You'll partner closely with site leaders and production teams to ensure safe systems of work, continuous improvement, and compliance with relevant WHS legislation. Responsibilities include:
- Partner with site leaders and teams to embed a proactive safety culture across daily operations.
- Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations, ensuring effective corrective actions.
- Support the development and review of WHS policies, procedures and training materials.
- Provide guidance on hazard identification, safe work procedures and permit-to-work systems.
- Lead safety inductions, toolbox talks and targeted training sessions to engage all levels of the workforce.
- Monitor compliance with WHS legislation, internal standards and external audit requirements.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to identify process improvements and reduce risk.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing incidents and improving safety performance.
- Report on key WHS metrics and support site leadership in implementing preventative actions.
Your Background
In order to be successful in this role, you will:
- Experience in a WHS or Safety Advisor role.
- Strong understanding of risk management, incident investigation and regulatory compliance.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across the business.
- Practical, hands-on approach with a focus on coaching and engaging employees.
- Qualification in Work Health and Safety (Cert IV or Diploma level).
- Passionate about continuous improvement and driving a positive safety culture.
