About This Opportunity

We are seeking a Kitchenhand/Café Assistant to join our team in our busy tuckshop.

• Permanent full-time, term-time position

• 76 hours per fortnight

• 6:30 am to 2:30 pm Monday to Friday

• Due to the nature of school operations, a degree of flexibility is required to meet event requirements

• Hourly base rate $ $ % superannuation + leave loading

• Based in Indooroopilly, close to public transport and ample free parking

Duties include:

• Assisting with basic, general food preparation for breakfast, morning tea, lunch and catered events.

• Serving café food items with fast, friendly and respectful service to customers throughout busy periods.

• Maintaining a clean kitchen and surrounding areas.

• Adhering to the Food Safety Plan and general safety practices.

• Ensuring that the work environment and stations are clean and sanitized.

• Assist with Barista duties.

About You

To be successful in the role you will have:

• A valid Queensland Working with Children Check Positive Paid Employee Notice.

• Experience in a similar role, preferably within a fast-paced customer service environment.

• Commitment to customer service excellence.

• Interpersonal skills that encourage a welcoming atmosphere and helpful nature.

• High level of organisational and time management skills.

• The ability to work quickly, whilst remaining calm and courteous under pressure.

• Ability to be flexible and take on tasks as required.

• Previous experience in a similar role in a school environment, highly regarded but not essential.

• Food Safety Certificate desirable but not essential, however required to complete prior to start.

• Barista experience not essential, we can train you
