About This Opportunity
We are seeking a Kitchenhand/Café Assistant to join our team in our busy tuckshop.

Permanent full-time, term-time position
-
76 hours per fortnight
-
6:30 am to 2:30 pm Monday to Friday
-
Due to the nature of school operations, a degree of flexibility is required to meet event requirements
-
Hourly base rate $ $ % superannuation + leave loading

Based in Indooroopilly, close to public transport and ample free parking
Duties include:
-
Assisting with basic, general food preparation for breakfast, morning tea, lunch and catered events.

Serving café food items with fast, friendly and respectful service to customers throughout busy periods.

Maintaining a clean kitchen and surrounding areas.
-
Adhering to the Food Safety Plan and general safety practices.
-
Ensuring that the work environment and stations are clean and sanitized.

Assist with Barista duties.

About You
To be successful in the role you will have:
-
A valid Queensland Working with Children Check Positive Paid Employee Notice.

Experience in a similar role, preferably within a fast-paced customer service environment.
-
Commitment to customer service excellence.
-
Interpersonal skills that encourage a welcoming atmosphere and helpful nature.
-
High level of organisational and time management skills.
-
The ability to work quickly, whilst remaining calm and courteous under pressure.
-
Ability to be flexible and take on tasks as required.
-
Previous experience in a similar role in a school environment, highly regarded but not essential.

Food Safety Certificate desirable but not essential, however required to complete prior to start.

Barista experience not essential, we can train you
