In this role, the Factory Controller will support the Factory Manager as a trusted co-pilot within the Factory Leadership Team (vision, organization, practices, initiatives/projects) on a day to day as well as on a long-term strategic view. Will provide visibility around costs related to the factory processes through the driving of relevant analysis and reporting, ensure adherence to financial legal requirements and NAS.

A day in the life
Reporting to the Factory Manager, key responsibilities include:

  • Continually seek cost improvements in the factory by presenting and prioritising cost improvement opportunities.
  • Validate and review projects constantly to ensure completion and realisation of savings.
  • Understand key factory cost drivers and the link to factory variances and SAP reports in order to prioritise cost improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate reporting of actual costs: timeliness and accuracy of input data for Period-end Close (PEC); ensuring external and internal financial policies, Accounting Standards and Costing Standards are followed.
  • Provide early warning to stakeholders in case of major cost deviations.
  • Participate in business planning: coordinate, challenge and prepare the input assumptions for the Standard Cost Budget (SCB) and Dynamic Forecast (DF).
  • Develop, control and ensure robust evaluations of capital investment plans and requests.
  • Be the audit and compliance 'champion' at the factory and be the key contact for internal and external audits.
  • Ensure clear control and visibility of assets and liabilities, including the development, implementation and compliance with internal controls.
  • Coach and develop the factory finance personnel as individuals and as a team, including career and succession planning.
  • Promote clear understanding of financial key figures and costing within the factory, including organising training sessions for non-specialists.
  • Ensure full transparency of costs and financial impact to the organization of major or strategic decisions relating to the factory.

What Will Make You Successful

  • Joining a collaborative team, you will be a strong leader with a history of delivering results in a high-pressure environment. You have the demonstrated ability to adapt to fast-paced changes. You will have a natural passion for data and an eye for detail.
  • You will ideally be Degree qualified in Finance and have 5+ years' experience with understanding of key commercial financial areas, including, Costing, Distribution / Supply Chain and Decision Support.
  • Manufacturing Costing experience; ideally within a factory or supply chain environment.
  • CA/CPA qualification or equivalent is desirable.
  • Understanding of FMCG industry; excellent Excel, SAP, reporting tools knowledge essential and knowledge of Power BI will be an advantage.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You will have strong technical, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
