The Collection Development Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused library collections. This position provides effective leadership in developing, coordinating, and delivering both physical and digital collections that meet the evolving needs of our vibrant and growing community.

Key Responsibilities:


• Coordinate the delivery and lifecycle of library collections, including procurement, acquisitions, selection, cataloguing, and processing, ensuring alignment with industry and community trends.


• Monitor and analyse collection performance across physical and digital platforms, identifying trends and leading projects to enhance access and community engagement.


• Develop and maintain clear and consistent collection policies, systems, and procedures to enhance accessibility and service quality.


• Provide training and information to ensure the Library Services Team remains informed of collection trends, technologies, and best practices.


• Network with library professionals to maintain an expert understanding of the One Card Consortium environment, LMS developments, and broader sector innovation.


• Provide expert advice and operational support to library staff, ensuring excellence in customer service, readers' advisory, and collection promotion.


• Lead strategic collection development and continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis, customer feedback, and evidence-based decision-making.

About You:


• A degree or diploma in Library and Information Management or equivalent qualification.


• Demonstrated experience in collection development, acquisitions, and cataloguing within a public library setting.


• Strong knowledge of library management systems, preferably within a consortium environment.


• Proven ability to analyse data, interpret trends, and translate insights into practical collection strategies.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to leadership and teamwork.


• A passion for providing high-quality, customer-focused library services that enrich and connect communities.
