Join the Civmec TeamCivmec is currently delivering the Concrete and Field Erect Tanks Package in Eneabba, Western Australia. Following a successful start in May 2025, the project is now transitioning into the Structural, Mechanical, and Piping (SMP) phase.
This project is based in the Mid-Western Region and offers a 2:1 roster to all personnel, offering better work-life balance to our employees. Transportation to and from site is provided from Perth Airport.
We're seeking experienced SMP Engineers to join our delivery team and contribute to this exciting phase of execution
The RoleAs a SMP Engineer on this project, you'll play a pivotal role in managing scope, liaising with clients, and driving execution across construction, quality, and commercial functions.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing and coordinating SMP construction activities in line with project schedules and specificationsLiaising with client representatives, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve technical queries and ensure alignmentMonitoring progress and preparing detailed weekly and monthly reports for internal and client stakeholdersReviewing and approving technical deviation requests and maintaining the technical query registerEnsuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards across all worksSupporting the development of work packs, ITPs, and construction methodologiesConducting inspections and walkdowns to verify installation quality and readiness for testing or commissioningIdentifying and mitigating risks and non-conformances through proactive problem-solvingAssisting with material take-offs, procurement tracking, and delivery coordinationParticipating in pre-starts, toolbox talks, and safety reviews to promote a strong safety cultureCollaborating with planning and commercial teams to support forecasting, cost control, and change management About YouTo thrive in this role, you'll ideally bring:
A tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related disciplineProven experience delivering SMP (Structural, Mechanical, and Piping) scopes on major construction projectsStrong technical knowledge of steel structures, mechanical equipment installation, piping systems, and associated construction methodologiesProficiency in MS Office and relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Navisworks, or similar) Civmec + YouAt Civmec, we offer an inclusive workplace built on family values, with a 'Never Assume' culture, sustained by our experienced and supportive management team.
