Operations Ground Support Officer

Our client is seeking an Operations Ground Support Officer in the Cairns Airport for immediate start.
The position will be temporary for three months, working full-time hours Monday to Friday (maximum of 38 hours per week), with the possibility of extension.
Duties:
• Provide logistical and administrative support for ground operations in the dispatch and receipt of flights including passenger check in, preparation of flight documentation and passenger airside escort.
• Assist staff, crews and passengers to ensure safe and efficient ground operations during aircraft arrival and departure.
• Provide ground support in loading and unloading of baggage, freight and other equipment.
• Assist with aircraft and facility cleanliness and operations of ground service equipment.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient coordination of ground support activities.
• Maintain accurate records of ground operations to ensure all documentation complies with aviation regulatory and organisational standards.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with airport security protocols, including monitoring restricted areas and safeguarding equipment and aircraft.
• Provide accurate, timely and quality administrative support to base coordinators and engineering teams across Fixed and Rotary Wing operations.
Requirements:
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing and towing heavy equipment or cargo.

• Strong communication skills.
• A Dangerous Goods Certification.
Mandatory requirements:
• Must be able to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
• In compliance with CASA Drug and Alcohol Management Plan requirements, the preferred applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment testing and participate in the QGAir Drug & Alcohol program.
