Role: Fruit Fly Controller

Location: Barmera, SA 5345

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm (Full-time)

Pay Rate: $35 - $36 per hour

Step into a role that takes you outdoors and makes a real impact As part of the fruit fly management team, you'll be on the front line helping to safeguard South Australia's valuable fruit crops from pest threats.

You'll work hands-on across the Riverland region, visiting properties, inspecting traps, collecting samples, and helping deliver treatment programs that keep our produce pest-free. Every day offers something different - from monitoring in the field to engaging with local growers and residents about prevention measures.

What You'll Do:

  • Carry out inspections and check traps for fruit fly activity
  • Assist with ground treatment and baiting programs
  • Collect and record samples accurately
  • Support community engagement and education efforts
  • Maintain equipment and vehicles used in field operations

What You'll Bring:

  • Background in horticulture, fruit picking, or customer service preferred
  • Current National Police Clearance (within 12 months)
  • Full working rights in Australia, with no restrictions
  • Current driver's licence and ability to operate a 4WD and trailer
  • Reliability, initiative, and willingness to work outdoors
  • Availability for a 3-hour paid induction prior to commencing
