The Role
Reporting into the Junior Planning Manager for the Southern Hemisphere, this is an exciting newly created role that will focus on optimising inventory across our Australian and New Zealand store network, ensuring each store receives the right product, in the right quantities, at the right time. The Junior Planner will play a pivotal role in supporting sales growth, driving profitability, and maximising customer satisfaction in every store location. This is the perfect role for a candidate that loves using their initiative, commercial acumen and problem solving skills to drive business growth
Key Responsibilities
Store & Channel Planning
Build and manage store grading by location, size, customer profile, and sales potential.
- Partner with Planners to translate company financial targets into actionable branch level stock plans.
- Develop allocation strategies tailored to individual store performance, demographics, and trading patterns.
- Manage the store planograms, highlighting areas of improvement and areas hitting KPI's
Inventory Management
Monitor stock levels, sell-through, and replenishment needs across ANZ stores.
- Proactively identify over/under-stocked stores and implement rebalancing strategies.
- Align branch inventory with promotional calendars, seasonal launches, and peak trading periods.
- Monitoring Size availability by store
Commercial Insights & Reporting
Analyse store performance by category, region, and product type; provide recommendations to optimise sales and margin.
- Prepare weekly and monthly branch performance reporting, highlighting risks and opportunities. Identifying trends by state, region, demographics
- Partner with Retail Operations to deliver insights on localised customer preferences and trading conditions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Logistics and Retail Operations to ensure a customer-first approach to product allocation.
- Support new store openings and refurbishments with tailored product plans.
Key Skills & Experience
- 3+ years' experience in retail planning or merchandise analysis (branch planning experience highly regarded).
- Strong analytical skills with proven ability to interpret data and deliver actionable insights.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Commercially astute, with a strong understanding of the Australian & New Zealand retail landscape.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment.
