Quality Engineer - Cypress / Playwright | Front-End Automation

Our client is a major Australian enterprise undergoing significant digital transformation. With headquarters in Sydney, they are modernising customer-facing platforms to improve performance, resilience, and scalability across their digital channels. 

About the role

This 6-month contract role supports a front-end test Program, reporting to the Program Test Manager. You'll work with developers and business analysts to drive quality across the delivery stream, focusing on automation and regression testing of critical customer journeys. 

Duties/Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain front-end test automation frameworks (Cypress or Playwright)
  • Design and run regression suites for booking, payment, and check-in
  • Validate interactions across decoupled microservices and front-end layers
  • Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration
  • Document test evidence and manage defect triage

Skills and experience

  • UI test automation using Cypress (or Playwright/Selenium)
  • Understanding of React, Angular, or similar frameworks
  • Experience with API testing tools like Postman or REST Assured
  • Familiarity with GitHub Actions or Jenkins in CI/CD environments
  • Proven experience in digital transformation or migration projects
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
