You'll be placed in one of our essential kitchen support teams based on your experience, strengths, and availability. All roles involve physical activity, team coordination, and high attention to cleanliness and safety:
Waste Management
Waste & Logistics Supervisors
Kitchen Steward
Head Steward
Kitchen Cleaning
Back of House Team Leaders
The Positions
Maintain hygiene and safety across high-traffic kitchens and back-of-house
Handle waste bins, waste separation, and assist with recycling duties, contributing to the overall sustainability of the precinct
Operate dishwashers and clean commercial kitchen equipment – you will be the backbone of kitchen cleanliness and flow
Complete repetitive, physical tasks like lifting, walking, cleaning and washing, efficiently and consistently
Assist kitchen and logistics teams to ensure service readiness
The Person
Physically fit and comfortable standing or walking for long shifts
Hospitality, cleaning, or kitchen experience is a bonus but not essential
Positive, reliable, and ready to take direction
Strong attention to hygiene and safety procedures
Team player with a proactive, can-do mindset

Interviews will take place at onsite recruitment days at Melbourne Park, or via Teams throughout August and September 2025.
All Australian Open roles are casual contracts that will commence Monday 6th October unless otherwise communicated. Shifts may be rostered across weekdays, weekends, and public holidays and paid in accordance with the Hospitality Industry Award. All onboarding and training will be provided prior to commencement.
