Pharmacist Research Assistant PROACTIVE study

An exciting opportunity exists for a pharmacist research assistant to contribute to practice-based research at Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH). PROACTIVE (Pharmacist-led Review of penicillin Allergy Cases as a Targeted Inpatient interVEntion). This is a prospective study looking at whether active surveillance of penicillin allergy and proactive delabelling by a pharmacist using existing hospital electronic tools leads to improved delabelling of penicillin allergy compared to passive surveillance.

Where you'll be workingThis research assistant position is based at Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) and is responsible to carry out clinical and research activities at RNSH.

What you'll be doing
To carry out clinical assessment/intervention and trial research activities for the PROACTIVE (Pharmacist-led Review of penicillin Allergy Cases as a Targeted Inpatient interVEntion) study. This is a prospective study looking at whether active surveillance of penicillin allergy and proactive delabelling by a pharmacist using existing hospital electronic tools leads to improved delabelling of penicillin allergy compared to passive surveillance.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

1. Must hold registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
2. Demonstrated skills and knowledge in the use of hospital information systems and the provision of clinical or pharmacy services to consumers, carers and families in hospital settings.
3. Proven ability to work independently and to establish effectively collaboratively working relationships within a multi-disciplinary team and interagency networks.
4. Demonstrated ability to undertake clinical research activities and/or quality improvement activities.
