Due to our organic and acquisitional growth, we are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join our Sydney IS team. You will become a technical resource within the Infrastructure Engineering team supporting acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with the integration and support of infrastructure across newly acquired businesses
- Provide day-to-day support and troubleshooting for on-premises and cloud infrastructure, including servers, networking, and storage
- Support the setup, migration, and ongoing maintenance of systems across a wide range of technologies and environments
- Perform remote system administration and technical support across both Windows and Linux platforms
- Monitor infrastructure health and respond to system alerts and incidents as needed
- Assist in the planning, documentation, and implementation of infrastructure projects including upgrades, consolidations, and cloud transitions
- Work with security tools to support vulnerability management, patching, access control, and system hardening
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure environments are secure, stable, and aligned with company standards
- Contribute to technical strategies, policies, and procedures
- Hands-on experience with both cloud and on-premises infrastructure (e.g. Azure, AWS, VMware, Hyper-V)
- 5+ years in a similar infrastructure or systems administration role
- Familiarity with server and storage hardware, including configuration and support in virtualized or cloud environments
- Working knowledge of networking concepts and experience with switches, firewalls, and basic routing
- Solid understanding of core networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
- Proficient in Windows Server administration (2016 and later)
- Exposure to Linux administration in a production environment
- Experience with Active Directory and group policy configuration
- Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions
- Experience supporting virtualized environments (e.g. Hyper-V, VMware)
- Exposure to containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker or Kubernetes
- Proficiency in scripting for automation and infrastructure tasks (e.g. PowerShell, Bash)
- Experience working on infrastructure integration projects during mergers or acquisitions
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g. Terraform, ARM templates)
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines or deployment automation tools (e.g. Azure DevOps, Octopus Deploy, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
- Understanding of security best practices in infrastructure design and access control
- Knowledge of legacy systems and the ability to troubleshoot unknown environments
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g. Azure Monitor, Nagios)
