Position Overview:

We seek a dedicated and empathetic Female or Male Disability Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in personal care and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. In this role, you will be crucial in delivering high-quality support and care to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while fostering a positive and respectful environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including grooming, bathing, dressing, and mobility support.
  • Develop and maintain individualized care plans in collaboration with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Offer emotional support and companionship, encouraging social interaction and participation in community activities.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members, providing clear and accurate information about care plans and any changes in the client's condition.
  • Document care activities and progress, maintaining accurate and confidential records.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for clients.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in disability support work or a related field, with hands-on experience in personal care.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members.
  • Empathetic, patient, and compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to client-centered care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and flexibility.
  • Relevant certification or training in disability support or personal care is preferred (e.g., Certificate III in Individual Support, First Aid certification).
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required.

Compensation:

  • Starting pay of $34 per hour.
  • Potential for higher pay based on proven experience and qualifications.

  • First Aid & CPR Certification (Preferred)

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (Preferred)

  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module (Preferred)
