- Support the review, finalisation and implementation of Youth Justice Custodial Services (YJCS) Records Management Local Operating Procedures

The Department of Justice and Community Safety (Youth Justice) is responsible for the statutory supervision of young people in the criminal justice system in Victoria focussing on prevention, diversion, and early intervention as the most effective and fiscally responsible ways of reducing youth crime. Youth Justice Custodial Services aim to engage young people in change by addressing their offending behaviour and equipping them with the skills required for positive community participation, within a safe and secure environment.
The opportunity
- Ongoing, full-time position based in Cherry Creek.
- VPS 3 role: $76,817 - $93,275 per year plus super.
- Support management of information and records for YJCS and ensure departmental records management compliance are met.
- Undertake records management related projects as required preparing hardcopy records for transfer from active to inactive or archival storage.
- Educate and train business areas withing Youth Justice Custodial Services on records management, including appointment and training of a Records Liaison Officer across the teams as a point of contact in managing their own records, including how to use TRIM Records Manager and how to send and retrieve from offsite storage
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience in records management as well as using Office 365 suite of applications, SharePoint, and) and/or other Electronic Document and Record Management Systems. Experience in HPE Records Manager (TRIM) is desirable but not essential.
You will also have an understanding of records management policies, principles, and procedures including relevant records management legislation (Public Records Act 1973 and Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014), and Public Record Office Victoria (PROV) standards and guidelines. An understanding of government policies would also be desirable.
A current driver's licence is required due to the need to work across different locations
You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.
