With an established reputation in New Zealand and Melbourne, we specialise in the installation, testing, and maintenance of transformers, switchgear, and substation equipment. Our services extend across generation, transmission, distribution, mining, and industrial sectors.

We're entering an exciting phase of growth, with several major projects underway across Victoria and interstate. To support this momentum, we're seeking skilled Transformer Technicians to join our team.

In this role, you'll take responsibility for commissioning and maintaining high-voltage assets, including large transformers and SF6 switchgear. Working independently or alongside Power Technicians and Electrical Fitters, you'll play a key part in delivering safe, high-quality outcomes that consistently exceed client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

· Support supervisors in repairs, maintenance, and installations of transformers and related equipment.

· Recommend process improvements and assist with project planning and execution.

· Ensure compliance with safety, quality standards, and company policies.

· Provide technical expertise and support for HV power transformers.

· Build and maintain strong client relationships.

· Manage projects from start to finish.

What We're Looking For

You're a hands-on expert in transformers and HV equipment, ready to work in a dynamic environment with regular travel across the state, interstate, or offshore.

Key Skills and Experience

  • White Card and Victorian Driver's License (Truck license preferred).
  • Electrical trade qualification (preferred).
  • 5+ years' experience in transformer maintenance, installation, and refurbishment.
  • Skilled in oil filtration, rectification, fault diagnosis, and testing.
  • Strong knowledge of transformer components, including tap changers and protection systems.
  • Experience with heavy equipment (e.g., transformers, pumps, turbines, compressors).
  • Proficient in arranging and managing large plant equipment (e.g., cranes, EWPs).
  • Competent in site documentation (e.g., SWMS, ITPs, hazard records)
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client and team relationships.
