About the role:
The Senior Perinatal Epidemiologist role will provide expert and strategic advice to Safer Care Victoria and the Consultative Council on Obstetric and Paediatric Mortality and Morbidity (CCOPMM). The specific accountabilities are to provide SCV with support relating to perinatal epidemiology, contributing to projects, and analysis and reporting of perinatal epidemiological data to guide policy development and strategic priorities.
The role requires a Senior Perinatal Epidemiologist with experienced in perinatal data analyst, Salesforce database expertise, project management expertise, exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
The successful candidate will have technical expertise in health information management.
- Provides data and insights on safety and quality performance in the system, including established data submission, analysis, and reporting for the CCOPMM and AIHW.
- Liaises with Department of Health and other internal data providers where there is shared accountability for safety and quality data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Leads the development of data dashboards to support SCV and CCOPMM strategic programs.
- Develops new data collection methods and provides new data analysis where required.
This role will be a SCV and CCOPMM representative on major national perinatal reporting groups at the AIHW and provides expert advice to support research, data requests and approvals.

- Epidemiology background with expertise in perinatal and maternal health is essential.
- Experience working with Victorian hospital data.
- Familiarity with SCV and Department of Health datasets.
- Master of Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field is preferred.
