Opportunity:

A newly created exceptional opportunity is for a senior structural engineer seeking a career that goes beyond a paycheck.

The role offers the opportunity of equity and the chance to grow the Canberra operations, which are currently being serviced out of the Sydney office.

The role will see you partner with the Managing Director, who is an approachable, pragmatic, empathetic and visionary leader.

With the NSW and VIC offices thriving, the clientele in the ACT is increasing, and thus the business is looking to invest in a permanent Canberra base.

About the business:

A niche boutique consultancy specialising in structural and remedial engineering assists asset owners with mitigating the risks associated with and extending the life of their buildings/structures.

This includes diagnosing defects, identifying root causes, developing remedial designs, providing advice, reporting, and managing remediation projects on behalf of their clients.

What we are looking for:

A motivated and hands-on Senior Structural Engineer with ideally some exposure to remedial, forensic or diagnostic engineering (training can be provided).

Role:

  • Structural design, assessment, and delivery of heritage restoration and remedial projects across commercial, residential, institutional, and government sectors.
  • Conducting structural investigations, condition assessments, dilapidation reports, and developing strengthening and repair strategies.
  • Collaborating closely with architects, heritage specialists, and contractors to deliver thoughtful, context-sensitive solutions.
  • Fostering strong client relationships.
  • Assist in recruiting, mentoring, coaching, developing and growing the ACT office.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • 5+ years' experience in remedial, heritage, or structural engineering.
  • CPEng advantageous (or a desire to work towards obtaining)
  • Strong understanding of concrete, steel, timber, and masonry repair and strengthening techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving, report writing, and communication skills.
  • Passionate about preserving and enhancing existing structures while delivering practical solutions.
