Senior and mid-level Structural Designer

The Company

A Global EPCM Engineering consultancy with a portfolio of resource mining projects across the world. An upcoming major project is soon to be awarded, and they are looking for a Senior Structural Designer and a mid-level Structural Designer to add to the team.

The Role

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, multi-tasker, and demonstrated team-player. You will be part of the design team assisting on different scopes such as the port and marine infrastructure, non-process infrastructure, materials handling and process plant.

This is an initial 12-months contracting (potential to extend due to the size of the project) opportunity for the candidates.

Responsibilities for Senior

  • Development of detailed structural designs for mining infrastructure such as crushers, conveyors, processing plants, and support buildings.
  • Review and validate design drawings and 3D models produced by junior designers and drafters.
  • Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards, mining codes, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate with structural engineers to translate engineering calculations into practical, buildable designs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, electrical) to ensure design integration

Responsibilities for mid-level

  • Prepare structural drawings and 3D models for mining infrastructure under the guidance of senior designers and engineers.
  • Work closely with engineers to understand design intent and incorporate feedback.
  • Convert engineering sketches and specifications into detailed design documents.
  • Assist in producing fabrication and construction drawings for steel, concrete, and foundation elements.
  • Ensure drawing accuracy, clarity, and compliance with drafting standards.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Proficient in software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla Structures, MicroStation, and/or Navisworks.
  • Proven experience working on mining projects ideally on Gold/Copper.
  • Brisbane or Perth based with Australian Full work rights
