Senior Exploration Geologist

Kingston Resources Ltd is an ASX listed Gold and Copper Producer and Explorer who owns Mineral Hill Mine, Condobolin Central NSW. The company is focused on building scale through growth opportunities based on an organic growth strategy to expand the Company and Mineral Hill Mine.

We are seeking a Senior Exploration Geologist to help lead the regional and near mine exploration and discovery programs on the companies tenements that capture highly prospective terrain surrounding the mine and extending up to 30km to the northwest.  Multiple high potential targets exist along the 35km strike length of tenement holdings with RC drilling commencing mid-October to test walk up targets with a real probability of a new discovery being made.

About the role

As Senior Exploration Geologist at Mineral Hill Mine you will play a key role in developing, executing and managing geological programs required to continuously advance and evaluate prospects and targets across the tenement package as well as immediately adjacent to the Mineral Hill Mine operations.

Your hands on skill set will bridge the Exploration and Resource Development continuum in developing and executing programs and opportunities aimed at delivering new deposit discovery, near mine discovery and Resource additions and replacement, and delivery of a pipeline of targets to support the long-term project +5 year mine plan.

This is a permanent position requiring a collaborative way of work across multiple geological functions and operations teams.

The role is on 14 days and 9 days off (including public holidays) with some flexibility depending on the work programs and the candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing safety leadership through visible behaviors and integration with the mining operations safety management systems
• Lead the design, execution and management of field, geophysical, and drill programs to a high quality, and in a timely manner to avoid rework and delays
• Assist with development and ranking of resource definition and exploration drilling targets providing geological interpretations and modelling with input to mine development studies and opportunities
• Collection, management, and collation of geological and geophysical data ensuring validated data is available for the company, including direct drilling data collection from diamond drill holes, RC chip, air core, and auger drilling, QAQC of geochemical and other geological and geotechnical data sets
• Contractor management to ensure compliance with Mineral Hill Mine operating procedures and principles, and compliance with statutory and OH&S requirements
• Development and management of budget and cost control through efficient work practices to ensure effectiveness of the targeted spend and waste minimization
• Weekly, monthly and annual report preparation for site and company management
• Oversight and management of statutory reporting and Resource Regulator compliance associated with exploration activities
• Reporting on program progress and outcomes including preparation of figures and diagrams in a format that allows direct input to corporate and public reporting

About you:

• Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Geology from a recognised tertiary institution
• +10 years' experience in an exploration or production mining role
• Ability to complete work across a broad range of exploration/ resource definition activities
• Good time and program management skills
• Familiarity and experience with NSW Resource Regulator reporting and compliance framework
• Experience with Micromine, Discover Bundle (MapInfo), Geostatistical and analytical software, iOGAS, Leapfrog Geo and Microsoft suite of programs
• Excellent oral and written skills, in both presentation and technical writing
• Collaborative and hands on way of work with responsibility taken for the deliverables and outcomes
• Valid NSW or equivalent C class driver's license for manual motor vehicles
