About the Role:

Located in the Barossa Valley, South Australia, Laucke Mills is a family owned, stock feed milling business producing a range of quality stock and poultry feeds for both the domestic and commercial markets, supporting the ever-growing demand across Australia.

We're seeking a skilled Boilermaker / Fabricator to join our team in a well-established feed mill operation. This is a hands-on role requiring experience in component fabrication, fine tolerance manufacturing, and fitting of specific feed mill equipment.

You'll be responsible for building and fitting purpose-built equipment, fabricating custom parts, and ensuring plant reliability through high-quality workmanship. This position suits someone who values safety, precision, and working collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture and fit specialised componentry used in feed mill operations
  • Fabricate steel structures and parts to fine tolerances
  • Read and interpret technical and fabrication drawings
  • Perform TIG, STICK and MIG welding to a high standard
  • Carry out fitting, modifications, and installations of new and replacement components
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams for planned and breakdown works
  • Maintain high standards of workshop and site safety at all times
  • Conduct quality checks and ensure component integrity and alignment with operational specifications
  • Able to coach and develop apprentices in on-the-job training.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Boilermaker / Fabricator (trade certified)
  • Experience working with stainless steel and custom fabrication
  • Proven ability to read and fabricate from technical drawings
  • Solid fitting skills and mechanical aptitude, especially for equipment installations
  • Commitment to safe work practices and procedures
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in a feed mill, agricultural processing plant, or industrial manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with pneumatic or conveying systems
  • Forklift license, confined space ticket, or other relevant tickets
