An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced IT Infrastructure Lead to join our Head Office team in Dandenong South on a permanent, full-time basis.
About the Role – Full-Time Onsite (Immediate Start Available)
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on IT professional to take on a pivotal role within our small internal IT team. This position is ideally suited to someone with a strong background in infrastructure and technology who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
As the IT Infrastructure Lead, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our existing infrastructure, driving cybersecurity initiatives, and leading the optimisation of IT systems across all business sites. Your work will directly contribute to the stability, security, and scalability of our technology environment, supporting both day-to-day operations and our broader digital growth strategy.
You will collaborate closely with key business stakeholders and provide support for mission-critical applications, cloud platforms, and retail systems spanning the Weatherbeeta and Horseland brands.
Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain all infrastructure systems including, VMware and Azure based virtual servers, SANs, WANs, switches, routers and firewalls.
- Enforce cybersecurity practices Inline with industry standard (essential 8, NIST etc)
- Implement and manage cyber security program – XDR, Zero Trust, Vulnerability and asset management
- Manage the Microsoft 365 platform (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Azure AD, Intune) and ensure governance and compliance.
- Administer Active Directory, group policies, user/group management, shared mailboxes, security groups, and domain-related tasks.
- Provide Level 1–3 support to head office staff and respond to Help Desk tickets addressing hardware, software, network, and application issues within defined SLAs.
- Set up, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other IT peripherals.
- Monitor and improve system performance, plan for capacity, and implement upgrades.
- Ensure routine data backup and restoration procedures are followed, validated, and securely stored, both onsite and in the cloud.
- Manage the corporate VoIP phone system to ensure reliable communication across the business.
- Maintain secure remote access solutions including Zero Trust identity and access control app management
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, procedures, contributing to IT knowledge base, including user guides.
- Deliver remote and onsite IT support to Retail stores (desktop, server infrastructure, routing, firewalls).
- Ensure ongoing effective cybersecurity awareness communication/training to all users in the region.
- Own and or Contribute to IT projects, automation tasks, and continuous improvement initiatives.
To be successful in the role you will have or be able to demonstrate
- Strong working knowledge of network infrastructure including VPNs, firewalls (e.g., Fortinet), routers, and hosted/cloud environments.
- Strong working knowledge of Zero trust network (Zscaler preferred), vulnerability management, EDR/XDR (preferably Sentinel One/Microsoft Defender)
- Detailed experience with the Microsoft 365 Suite, especially in Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Entra ID / Azure AD.
- Hands-on experience in managing virtualised environments (VMware or Hyper-V) and SAN storage systems.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, and domain management.
- Understanding of IT security best practices, patch management, and threat prevention.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across systems, networking, and cloud services.
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to explain technical issues in plain language.
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities.
- Has been working across Level 1-3 support or infrastructure support and is ready to step up.
- Enjoys being hands-on with systems and working across a broad IT landscape, from infrastructure and cloud services to end-user support.
- Has a passion for delivering reliable and secure IT services in a business that values technology as a strategic enabler.
- Thrive working in fast paced retail business going through transformation and change.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g. Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Fortinet NSE, VMware, ITIL Foundation) are highly regarded.
- IT exp within large retail, wholesale, sportwear, apparel business - desirable.
