The Senior Data Engineer plays a key role in advancing MACS' enterprise data capability. The role supports the Data Platform team in building and maintaining a secure, scalable Microsoft Azure Data Platform to enable high-quality data delivery and analytics. It suits an experienced Azure data engineer with strong integration and modelling skills, supporting MACS' digital transformation and data-driven decision making

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead, design and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture and implementing appropriate data access controls.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, reliability, efficiency and quality
  • Build pipelines and procedures to transform raw data sets into the Enterprise Data Model and analytical models
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including internal and external teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data needs
  • Mentor and assist developers within and outside the team and ensure quality of deliverables created by junior members of the team
  • Maintain the Enterprise Data Model and design appropriate analytical data models according to requirements

ABOUT YOU

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to engage effectively with business stakeholders, team members and vendor organisations and demonstrated success in understanding and delivering information needs to multiple stakeholder groups within an Enterprise environment
  • Broad working knowledge of enterprise data platforms, including operational integration, data modelling, data governance, information management, provisioning, with exposure to BI and analytics
  • Strong technical skills in data integration, transformation and modelling
  • Experience in relevant Microsoft Azure data products (eg ADF, Synapse, Data Lake, SQL, etc)
  • An understanding of Delta Lake Framework is desired.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to initiate practical solutions, using a mix of technologies
