About the business and the role

We are located in Kyneton, in regional Victoria, 1 hour north of Melbourne. Our very busy and popular café/restaurant (rated number 1 in the Macedon Ranges) has an excellent reputation for quality food and exceptional service.  We are looking for a chef who will help the kitchen continue to take the café/restaurant on its upward trend and who will pride themselves on their contribution to the next stage of growth.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Five day week.

Prepare and cook meals to order for customers.

Help develop seasonal changes and specials to complement the existing menu.

Help run the kitchen efficiently and effectively

Check food quality and ensure preparation is undertaken in accordance with food safety plan and Occupational Health and Safety regulatory requirements.

Excellent communication skills.

Skills and experience

Experience of working in a similar role is desirable.

Be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the business.

Knowledge of food handling safety guidelines.

Be able to work as part of a team, follow direction and ensure consistency and quality of execution.

Have knowledge of and interest in upcoming food trends.

Must be good at working under pressure in a very busy and fast work environment

Must be able to work some weekends.

Job candidates must have the permanent right to work in Australia.
